Save the Date! Michael DeLeon, founder of Steered Straight, Inc, will be at the Avon Library on Thursday, May 25th from 7:00-8:30 to talk to parents about cyber safety, bullying, and gateway drugs that may lead to addiction. Michael DeLeon is a champion advocate for change in the middle of our nation’s addiction epidemic. Michael, a successful acclimated ex-offender, is now an acclaimed documentary filmmaker, writer, scholar and public speaker. He uses his unique perspective and one of a kind platform to enlighten others, create awareness and challenge change. Steered Straight, Inc. is a non-profit educational and prevention / intervention organization, committed to reaching children, teens, and young adults with a message of reality about life choices and the importance of consequential thinking so they understand that there are consequences to their actions. The homeroom with the best parent attendance gets a water ice party in June!

The Barrington School District is pleased to announce the opening of a Preschool Inclusion Program for the 2017-2018 school year at Avon School. The goal of the inclusion program is to integrate special needs children with typically developing peers in a collaborative learning environment. School hours for both Avon and Woodland are from 8:35 AM until 3:05 PM. Students should not arrive before 8:25 AM.
Information for applying for the Free and Reduced Breakfast/Lunch Program was sent home with students at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year.
